The Los Angeles Lakers won their seventeenth championship last season by taking down the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. Being a champion will bring an additional challenge to the Lakers, says head coach Frank Vogel.
According to him, other teams will bring their best effort against the Lakers because they will be defending champions. On the other hand, his team will be better prepared right from the start as they will be familiar with Vogel’s system.
“I think we as a group will play at an extremely high level. But that target gets bigger now that we are the NBA champion. I’m sure every we’re gonna be seeing every team’s best punch. That alone will bring a lot of challenges and make it a more difficult season. But we’re all really excited about getting going,” Vogel said on Spectrum Sportsnet.
