The Minnesota Timberwolves are attempting to acquire a second lottery pick in next week’s NBA draft, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

The team already has the No. 1 overall pick, but they’ve reportedly had talks with the Atlanta Hawks regarding the No. 6 overall pick.

A possible deal could include Timberwolves’ Jarrett Culver and their No. 17 pick heading to the Hawks in one scenario.

Other teams including the New Orleans Pelicans and the Boston Celtics are also interested in the Hawks’ No. 6 pick, O’Connor notes.

Florida State’s Patrick Williams is considered a main target for multiple teams looking to move up on draft night.

The Detroit Pistons reportedly promised to select Williams with their No. 7 overall pick, or at the very least, they’re extremely interested in him.

The Timberwolves are also “high” on Iowa State point guard Tyrese Haliburton.
