Coming off a championship season, the Los Angeles Lakers will have the shortest offseason in the history of the NBA. Head coach Frank Vogel is excited about the coming season, despite having significantly less time to rest than in a normal year.

“The 72-game season we’re about to endure is something that we feel very good about. It’s been a super quick turnaround for our team, the shortest offseason in the history of the NBA, but this is a team that embraces challenges,” Vogel said on Spectrum SportsNet.

“This is just the next challenge in life for us. The opportunity to dive in to all the challenges that come with trying to repeat as the NBA champion is something that myself and my staff, our front office is really looking forward to. Our players are ready to go.

Last year was about a system implementation and trying to tweak the plan and put it all together. And to see that plan culminate in an NBA championship. I think this season we’ll have more strength behind what we’re doing right from the season.”

The schedule of the next NBA season is not released yet, but it is reported that the Lakers will face the Golden State Warriors on the NBA Christmas Day.
