The Oklahoma City Thunder are still searching for a new head coach, after parting ways with Billy Donovan, who decided to become head coach in Chicago.

Among the candidates to replace Donovan on the Thunder’s bench, is the Sydney Kings’ head coach Will Weaver, who is quarantined in Oklahoma, per Olgun Uluc of ESPN’s Australia.

Weaver was strongly considered for the New Orleans Pelicans’ head-coaching vacancy before Stan Van Gundy signed a four-year deal to lead the team.

He had also served as a special assistant to the Philadelphia 76ers under Brett Brown and to the Brooklyn Nets under Kenny Atkinson.

Last season, he led the Kings to a league-best 20-8 record. The team would end up withdrawing from the NBL Finals due to coronavirus concerns.
