John Lucas is nearing an agreement with the Houston Rockets to remain as an assistant coach under Stephen Silas, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic
Lucas was considered one of the finalists to replace Mike D’Antoni as the head coach, being in the Rockets’ organization since 2016.
Silas, who became the new head coach a few days back, was reportedly working hard to keep Lucas in his role as director of player development, per Marc Berman of Fox 26.
