Andrew Wiggins ‘is in the best position that he could ever be in his life’, says Eddie Johnson

Former NBA Sixth Man of the Year and current sports analyst Eddie Johnson thinks that Andrew Wiggins is in a perfect position at the Golden State Warriors ahead of the next season.

With Steph Curry and Klay Thompson coming back, Wiggins should get more than enough opportunities to show off his skills and take his game to another level.

“People want to be down on Andrew Wiggins. But people understand something. He’s been around disfunction in Minnesota,” Johnson said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “With the Jimmy Butler scenario, with the losing people know he’s the number one draft pick. Got traded for Kevin Love who was a favorite there. He’s not an aggressive player.

“But now he’s with a group guys that’s going to teach him how to play, that’s going to show him what toughness is all about, knock him around, put him in great positions to do well. Nobody is leaving Klay, nobody is leaving Steph, he’ll be open.

“Draymond probably will average four assists just to him because everybody’s concentrating on Klay and Steph coming off killing them and this kid is going to be running right behind them getting dunks, getting layups. If he doesn’t know it, he’d better understand it. He is in the best position that he could ever be in his life.”

Wiggins and two draft picks arrived to Golden State via a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jacob Evans, D’Angelo Russell and Omari Spellman.

He played 12 games for the Warriors last season averaging 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
