The NBA and NBPA have agreed to extend the deadline to opt out of the current CBA, amid ongoing talks about the start date of the 2020/21 season.

The new deadline is next Friday, November 6, and the league and the Players Association will have more time to reach an agreement on the start date of the new season.

At the moment, the NBA wants the season to start on December 22 and have a 72-game regular season.

On the other hand, several superstars are trying to push the start date to January 18. In such case, the regular season will be reduced to 50 games.

The NBA wants to finish the season prior to the start of the Tokyo Olympics on July 23, 2021.
