Khimki managed to score their first win in the EuroLeague this season by outlasting Crvena Zvezda (83-77) in Moscow.

Six rounds needed to pass for Khimki to grab the first victory and all thanks to Errick McCollum. The American guard was in charge in the fourth quarter when the match could get either way.

It was a tough game, because both teams didn’t allow each other to score easily. Khimki was struggling with Zvezda‘s defense during the third quarter, while Crvena Zvezda had problems in the last quarter against the home team’s defense.

Errick McCollum shined in his debut for Khimki, but he wasn’t the only newcomer. Johnny O’Bryant of Crvena Zvezda was also impressive, but his solid performance was outshined by McCollum.

The MVP of the match was Errick McCollum with 23 points a PIR of 25, but two players in Khimki had a double-double performance. Alexey Shved didn’t start as himself but in the end, grabbed 15 points and 12 assists (PIR of 24). Besides him, Jordan Mickey added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Jordan Loyd was again the leader of the away team. He scored 18 points and grabbed seven boards, while the debutant Johnny O’Bryant added 14 points. Torrian Walden finished the match with 11.
