Former NBA coach George Karl has a recommendation for Carmelo Anthony on where to continue his career. According to Karl, Melo should go back to Portland, because he fits in well and knows what his role is.

On the other hand, going to New York or another NBA team could turn into a bad situation because there are many unknowns in such scenario.

“I think he fits in Portland. It seems like he and Jerry have a connection at a communication level that I haven’t seen with Melo in a lot of his stops along the way in his career,” Karl told Justin Termine and Eddie Johnson of SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“He fit with the team. Why try to figure out some place else when you got a good place, good team that’s close to being a really good. I would recommend him going back to Portland because the other things no matter what you think you’re somewhat guessing that you’re gonna work as good in New York or as good as in wherever as you work in Portland.

“What you got in Portland you know you got it. The other places you’re gonna have to fit a little bit. I wouldn’t take that chance at this stage in his career.”

This past season, Anthony averaged 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for the Blazers helping them jump into the playoffs.
