Kevin Seraphin announced his retirement in an interview with First Team in France, as the seven-year NBA veteran will not pursue a career in basketball anymore.

Seraphin sat out last season due to knee issues, and those same problems have him hanging up his shoes. The Frenchman had played for European powerhouse FC Barcelona after leaving the NBA.

He was selected 17th overall in the 2010 NBA Draft becoming a solid back-up center in the league. The veteran played five seasons for the Washington Wizards, while he also won a silver medal for France at EuroBasket 2011.

He averaged almost six points and four rebounds in 423 NBA games. In six seasons in Europe, Seraphin had 7.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per 15.5 minutes in 159 games.
