Former Heat big man Chris Bosh has urged the Miami Heat to lock Bam Adebayo up as soon as possible, claiming he wouldn’t think twice about sealing a mega extension with the versatile forward.

Adebayo’s stock rose significantly during the 2019/20 season and he will continue to go leaps and bounds. But the Heat are seemingly ready to risk losing him if it means they could get Giannis Antetokounmpo next year.

“If it’s me in the GM’s chair, I’m locking Bam up right away,” Bosh declared on Complex’s Load Management podcast. “Will be no thoughts, nothing necessary. You can put that to the side.

“There’s always a way to figure out cap space. You can concentrate on getting as far into the salary cap as you can. Probably have a trade scenario in my pocket. Just in case there’s a sign-and-trade opportunity.”

Bosh does make a great point. The Heat can sign Adebayo to an extension at the soonest and figure out how to make cap space for Giannis later. They were able to land Jimmy Butler out of the blue ahead of last season, despite their poor cap situation.

Meanwhile, Antetokounmpo to Miami is believed to be a huge possibility given that he shares the same agent as Adebayo.
