Tyronn Lue was named the Los Angeles Clippers’ new head coach, after the franchise’s decision to part ways with Doc Rivers.

Lue is looking to assemble his own staff and Kenny Atkinson is among the coaches that could join the Clippers as an assistant, per Marc Stein.

Atkinson was a candidate for several coaching vacancies this summer with the Bulls expressing strong consideration to sign him, before Billy Donovan becomes available, per several reports.

The former Nets’ head coach played a huge role in shaping Brooklyn’s franchise culture that brought Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to the organization last summer.

Prior to his arrival in Brooklyn, Atkinson was the lead assistant under Mike Budenholzer with the Atlanta Hawks.
