Golden State Warriors, along with head coach Steve Kerr, took a trip to see Deni Avdija working out ahead of the 2020 Draft, according to The Athletic’s Ethan Strauss.

(as transcribed by Bleacher Report):

“By all accounts, it was a positive get together, one in which the 19-year-old Israeli impressed observers,” Strauss wrote. “Not only did Avdija perform well in the workouts, but Warriors officials were blown away after meeting with him. The universal takeaway was that he’s a ‘great kid’ with an immense work ethic.”

Avdija played for Israeli and EuroLeague giant Maccabi Tel Aviv, before entering the 2020 NBA Draft. He is projected to be a top-10 prospect in the upcoming Draft, November 18.

The Warriors had the NBA’s worst record (15-50) last season after reaching the NBA Finals in each of the previous five years. As a result, they had the second overall pick of the 2020 draft at their disposal.
