After LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA title, comparisons between this year’s champions and the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers started.

The reason behind the comparison is LeBron, who brought championships to both teams. According to sports analyst Shannon Sharpe, the 2020 Lakers have a more versatile roster, which makes them better than the 2016 Cavs.

“I believe it’s the 2020 Lakers, because of their versatility. AD is the difference maker and LeBron will be LeBron. Maybe he lost a step athletically, but his knowledge is greater,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED.

The newly crowned champion J.R. Smith shared the same view recently, going with the 2020 Lakers as the better team of the two.
