Tyronn Lue had nothing but good words to say about the former head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers, Doc Rivers.
Lue worked in Rivers’ coaching staff as an assistant and has now replaced him as head coach of the team.
Lue called Rivers his ‘mentor’.
“Doc Rivers has been my mentor. He gave me my first opportunity. Without Doc, I wouldn’t be in this position today. With that being said, I’ve learned a lot from Doc, but I’ve also learned a lot from other coaches around the league. Spo, Brad Stevens, & Nick Nurse,” Lue told reporters, via Tomer Azarly of Clutchpoints.
For his part, Rivers took over the Philadelphia 76ers.
