Obi Toppin is not a prospect that can be ignored easily in today’s NBA, demonstrating a modern forward/center type of play during his college career. As a result, Toppin is a highly-touted prospect ahead of the 2020 NBA Draft.

According to Bleacher Report, many evaluators see the former Dayton big man as the most NBA-ready player in the draft. In particular, the Minnesota Timberwolves could be interested in selecting Toppin either as the first overall pick or by trading down.

Sources tell B/R the Minnesota Timberwolves are high on Toppin. The question is whether they’d be willing to take him first overall or if they’d only draft the big man out of Dayton in a trade-down scenario.

Toppin is great offensive talent having the ability to open the court with his shooting, while he has the potential to become a great two-way NBA player in the future.

The Dayton product averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per contest in his last season in the NCAA. He shot 39 percent from beyond the arc and 63.3 percent from the field.
