French NBA centers Rudy Gobert and Vincent Poirier played some 2-on-2 with one of the best draft prospects Victor Wembanyama and Maxime Raynaud.

Wembanyama, 16, who will be eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft, is already 7-foot-2 and has previously been labeled as “the top prospect in all of Europe, regardless of age,” according to ESPN’s Mike Schmitz.

“Despite his huge feet and thin frame, he moves like a wing,” Schmitz also said of Wembanyama. “Not only does he put a lid on the rim like Rudy Gobert, he also shows the floor-spacing potential of a young Kristaps Porzingis, with a far better handle and passing feel. Wembanyama will push off the break into pull-up jumpers or throw long outlets or behind the back passes to open teammates.”

French club Nanterre 92 posted videos of the scrimmage between Utah Jazz’s Gobert, Boston Celtics’ Poirier and the two young prospects.

Wembanyama and Raynaud (17 years old) represented France at the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship where the team won a silver medal.

Wembanyama averaged 9.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and a tournament-leading 5.3 blocks per game, while Raynaud averaged 2.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game.
