Carmelo Anthony may be reportedly interested in reunion with the Knicks, if they trade for Chris Paul

Chris Paul is expected to be one of the most common names in trade talks ahead of the 2020/21 season. The New York Knicks are really interested in adding the veteran point guard to their roster, and according to Marc Berman of the NY Post, the team could also be able to land another veteran star, if they acquire Paul.

Berman reported that Carmelo Anthony could follow Chris Paul if the Knicks decide to make a move for the Oklahoma City Thunder’s superstar guard.

“…if point guard Chris Paul makes his way to the Knicks via a trade, sources have said Anthony is likely to want to follow. Anthony and Paul are close friends who dreamed of playing together in the NBA and saw their alliance in Houston end prematurely.

Both players were represented by Knicks president Leon Rose when he was basketball chief of Creative Artists Agency. A source said Rose is amenable to an Anthony return even without Paul.”

The Knicks are looking to add ‘win-now’ talent to their young roster under new president Leon Rose and new head coach Tom Thibodeau.

The New York-based franchise has one of the worst NBA records in the last seven seasons, as they didn’t make the playoffs since 2013, when Anthony was the first option and the biggest name in the team.
