The Philadelphia 76ers are willing to build a capable front office staff, after choosing to hire Elton Brand as general manager last season.

According to Shams Charania, the Philadelphia 76ers and GM Elton Brand are hiring Pacers executive Peter Dinwiddie as Executive VP of Basketball Ops.

During his tenure as Vice President in Indiana, Dinwiddie has worked closely with Larry Bird and Donnie Walsh and the Pacers have reached the Eastern Conference Finals and won the Central Division each twice.

The Sixers are trying to recalibrate their front office, after a disappointing season that resulted in an early first round playoff exit.

Philadelphia also parted ways with Brett Brown last month and hired Doc Rivers as a replacement in the head coaching position a few days back.
