Excellent comeback for Bayern in Istanbul; Vladimir Lučić MVP, Jalen Reynolds’ comeback engine

Bayern Munich outscored Fenerbahce in Istanbul (71-75) after returning from 20 points down in the first half and the German team now has 3 wins and 1 loss.

Two nights ago, Vladimir Lučić scored a season high in the game against Maccabi. That didn’t stop him from having another excellent night. This time, it was against Fenerbahce in Istanbul. The most important points of Vladimir Lučić were four free throws in the last 10 seconds of the match. With those points, Bayern sealed an amazing comeback.

In the first half, the home team dominated the court. They started the game with an excellent play in defense. After the first 10 minutes, Fenerbahce scored 28 points and allowed Bayern only 9. And till the halftime, they were only protecting the difference and also won the second quarter (17-16).

All odds were on the home team, but basketball games last 40 and not 20 minutes. Bayern showed that tonight against the Turkish squad and broke their own comeback record in the EuroLeague. Before this, 21 points behind, the German team had the previous biggest comeback against Lokomotiv Kuban (19 points) in the 2013/14 season.

Even though Vladimir Lučić was the player with the highest PIR (24), the player that was most responsible for the comeback was Jalen Reynolds. In his 11 second-half minutes, he had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Vladimir Lučić finished the game with 18 points, five boards, and seven fouls drawn. Reynolds, the engine of the comeback, scored 17 points (career-high in the EuroLeague) and added eight rebounds. Zan Sisko scored 11, and Nihad Đedović 10.

Jan Vesely, with 25 points and 8 rebounds (PIR of 33), was the best for Fenerbahce. Nando De Colo added 18 points and seven assists (PIR of 29), while Edgaras Ulanovas scored 10 points.
