Harrison’s season-high lead Olympiacos to first home win of the season over Armani Milan

With Kostas Sloukas and Aaron Harrison firing for three, Olympiacos got a much needed win over Armani Milan and their first one at home this season.

Olympiacos got a much-needed win and their first at home, defeating Armani Milan, 86-75, on Wednesday night (14/10). Ettore Messina and his players had to deal with Olympiacos’ great defense and excellent fourth quarter. With Aaron Harrison scoring a season-high in Olympiacos (16 points) and Kostas Sloukas scoring a bouble-double (17 points, 11 assists), the team from Piraeus got an impressive win against the Italians. 

Kostas Sloukas was the top scorer for the Greeks with 17 points with Aaron Harrison scoring a season-high of 16 points. For Armani, Sergio Rodriguez was the leading scorer (18 points), with Michael Roll adding 16.

After a balanced start with both teams going head-to-head, Olympiacos’ defense gave the “Reds” a two-point lead (15-13) with George Printezis getting the basket and the foul. Armani quickly tied the game and got a four-point lead with a three-pointer from Sergi Rodriguez (15-19). George Printezis again ended the first quarter with a three-pointer at the buzzer (18-21).

With a three-pointer from Vassilis Spanoulis, Olympiacos got the lead at the beginning of the second quarter (23-21). Armani retained the lead (25-28) and with a seven-point run extended their lead and ended the first half with a six-point difference (36-42).

Olympiacos started strong in the second half, and with Shaquielle McKissic, who brought on the court the missing energy, cut the deficit. With Kostas Sloukas scoring for three (49-48), Olympiacos got the lead and with five points from Aaron Harrison and two from Hassan Martin Olympiacos extended it and ended the third quarter (63-58).

The fourth quarter started with a long three-pointer from Aaron Harrison and two others from Kostas Sloukas and Charles Jenkins (72-63). Armani, trailing by nine points, never managed to cover those nine points and ended the quarter and the match, 86-75.
