The Minnesota Timberwolves would likely look into trading the No.1 pick of the 2020 NBA draft and making a ‘win now’ plan to help Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell.

According to The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, the Timberwolves prefer giving up their pick to bring another talent that will help the franchise become a legit playoff team.

With no clear-cut top prospect in this year’s draft class, Minnesota will have to make a choice between three players (LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, James Wiseman), who do not seem the best fit for the current Wolves team.

The Timberwolves acquired D’Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors at the trade deadline and added Juancho Hernangomez and Malik Beasley to their roster in a multi-team trade that included four NBA teams.
