New Orleans Pelicans associate head coach Chris Finch is considered the frontrunner to be the next Indiana Pacers head coach.

Finch has been with the Pelicans since 2017.

Before that, he was an assistant with the Houston Rockets from 2011-2016 and Denver Nuggets in 2016-2017.

There have been several other potential candidates to fill the Pacers’ job including former head coaches Mike D’Antoni, Mike Brown and Dave Joerger, as well as top assistants around the league including Nate Bjorkgren, Darvin Ham, Ime Udoka and David Vanterpool.

Former NBA player Chauncey Billups also reportedly was considered a candidate.

Miami Heat assistants Chris Quinn and Dan Craig will interview with the Pacers next, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.

The Pacers began their head coaching search back in early September and appear to be closing in on Nate McMillan’s replacement.
