Crvena Zvezda protected home court for the first win in Euroleague; Jordan Loyd with a career-high

Jordan Loyd had a career-high 30 points and led Crvena Zvezda to the 90-73 home win over Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in the second round of the EuroLeague.

Through the first half, Crvena Zvezda maintained the lead because of its excellent defense. In the second half, it was a totally different story.

Zvezda took a double-digit lead after starting the third quarter with an 8-0 run. And while Baskonia had difficulties shooting from long range, Zvezda had five three-pointers in the first four minutes of the second half.

From that moment, the team from Vitoria-Gasteiz couldn’t get back properly. And now, both teams have identical records after two rounds in the EuroLeague.

In this game, as it was already mentioned, Jordan Loyd made an amazing performance and set his career-high. The American guard finished the game with 30 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals (index rating of 34). Marko Simonović was also amazing with 16 points (4/5 from three), while Ognjen Kuzmić had eight points and eight boards.

Rokas Giedraitis led Baskonia with a personal-best 26 points, but his excellent night was outshined by Jordan Loyd and the home win of Crvena Zvezda. His teammate Luca Vildoza added 13 points, while Achille Polonara scored 10.
