Dallas Mavericks’ Dwight Powell says he has no restrictions of movement as he continues to recover from and rehab his ruptured right Achilles tendon.

Powell, who suffered the season-ending injury back in January, also said if the Mavericks were able to scrimmage right now, he would be able to do so, according to Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News.

“I’ve been saying everything’s on schedule, but now it’s kind of a moot point,” Powell said. “We don’t really know when we’re going to get going again, so I’m feeling good.”

The NBA still has not set any dates for the start of the 2020-2021 season or free agency, as they navigate the coronavirus pandemic and salary cap issues.

“I know we all have a frame of reference for … a period of the offseason when other people are playing, so while we’re still able to tune into the Finals and watch guys compete, I think we can kind of focus on that a little bit,” Powell said. “But once everyone’s in the offseason, I think it’s going to get a little more tricky as far as planning how you want to ramp things up.”

Powell continued, “But at the end of the day, we’re just doing everything we can to develop our games and stay ready because I’m sure we’ll have some headway as far as when the season will start. I’m sure we’ll know in enough advance that we can prepare in a safe way.”

In 40 games this season, Powell averaged 9.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
