Kings to reportedly hire Alvin Gentry as Luke Walton’s assistant

The Sacramento Kings are about to hiring Alvin Gentry as the assistant coach of Head coach Luke Walton, per Marc Stein of the New York Times.

Gentry was the head coach of the New Orleans Pelicans for five years, but got fired after the end of the 2019/20 season.

Gentry and Walton worked together in the Golden State Warriors during the 2014/15 season.

The veteran coach will take over the role of associate head coach in Sacramento.
