Senegal have named their final roster for the FIBA World Cup as head coach Cheikh Sarr has kept Minnesota Timberwolves’ Gorgui Dieng in the team but cut Saer Sene.

Despite Sene trying to impress coach Sarr, he has struggled to shrug off a persistent knee injury that he suffered while playing for French side Antibes last October and was one of three players released for the World Cup.

Senegal retain seven players from the team that won bronze at last year’s Afrobasket in the Ivory Coast.

The African nation made the announcement following their 74-70 win over Eurobasket 2015 qualifiers Estonia.

Senegal squad for FIBA Basketball World Cup: Xane Dalmeida, Mamadou Ndoye, Thierno Niang, Mohamed Diop, Mouhammad Faye, Maleye Ndoye, Maurice Ndour, Djibril Thiam, Ibrahima Thomas, Hamady Ndiaye, Gorgui Dieng and Abdou Badji.
