The Golden State Warriors’ superstar Klay Thompson has been away from the court for more than a year, after his ACL injury that occurred in the 2019 NBA Finals.

Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr talked about the way the team and Thompson are trying to get back in form ahead of the 2020/21 season.

“We’re taking it really slow with Klay,” Kerr said, per Monte Poole of NBC Sport. “He’s basically taking part in all of practice other than the scrimmage. We did other drills that were live. We did some defensive drills, 5-on-5, more of a controlled scrimmage that he took part in. But at the end of practice scrimmage, we had him doing some 1-on-1 stuff with Leandro (Barbosa). That is the preferable sequence right now.”

The new season is not expected to start before January according to NBA commissioner Adam Silver. However, Golden State is building towards the new season with the hope of contending for a championship with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry back to their lineup.
