The Denver Nuggets should trade Michael Porter Jr. for Jrue Holiday, according to former NBA coach George Karl.

Karl believes such a move will help the Nuggets become a top contender in the league next season.

“There is talk of Jrue Holiday landing with the Clippers, Pacers and other contenders. But I told Adam Mares recently the Nuggets want this guy next to Jamal Murray! Even if they need to be bold and throw a MPJ into a trade to make it happen!!” Karl tweeted.

Denver made it to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2009, but lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1. They also made history by becoming the first team in NBA history to erase two 3-1 series deficits in the playoffs.

Holiday averaged 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game for the New Orleans Pelicans. It is still unclear if the team will make him available for a trade.
