The Los Angeles Lakers were firing on all cylinders on Wednesday night and Danny Green was not an exception to that. Fellow Lakers’ sharpshooter Kentavious-Caldwell Pope called the two-time NBA champion “Playoff Danny”.

Green appreciated his teammate’s comments on his shooting after making 3-out-of-8 shots from beyond the arc against the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but the veteran believes he is not in his best yet.

(via SB Nations’ Silver Screen and Roll):

“I mean, I’m far from that,” Green said. “Far from where I know I want to be or where I should be, but I just try to do my job the best of my ability and be active, That starts at the defensive end of the floor and then making the game easier or for the guys around me. Offensively I know it’ll come, but of course I want to knock down shots and hopefully build rhythm. I’m finally starting to see the worm turn for me here, some games here and there.”

Green shoots 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 36.percent from the field scoring 7.8 points per contest during the NBA restart.

However, he is still a great defender and a valuable NBA veteran in a championship-caliber team, even if he is not making shots. Green will compensate in other important areas of the game.
