The New York Knicks are preparing for the 2020 NBA Draft and, according to Marc Berman, they are going to interview former Maccabi’s forward Deni Avdija.

Avdija is projected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft, as many teams seem to perceive important qualities in his game, especially for this era of NBA basketball.

“His versatility and outside shooting touch (34 percent from 3) has the 19-year-old as a top-five pick in some mock drafts. The Knicks, who select eighth and feel they need more outside shooting from the forward position, plan to interview Avdija, according to a source.”

Despite the fact Avdija admitted he would like to get selected by the Knicks, he is an avid fan of Gregg Popovich and Spurs’ basketball, as Berman wrote in his latest piece.

Avdija finished the season in Israel at the start of the summer and now he is looking to further expand his game as he is going to enter the NBA as the highest-drafted Israeli in history.
