After a great comeback in the second half, Zalgiris Kaunas steals the win from Olympiacos Piraeus to secure a 67-68 victory in the first round.

With Zalgiris down by 11 points late in the third quarter, youngster Rokas Jokubaitis’ free throws with 3.5 seconds left steals the win from the Greeks. The 19-year-old scored a career-high 12 points, while Marius Grigonis helped Zalgiris with 15 points.

Martin Hassan was Olympiacos’ only scorer in double digits with 12 points, with Kostas Sloukas posting 6 points and 7 assists in his first game back with the Reds.

After Olympiacos’ great start (10-3), Zalgiris replied with a 2-15 run to get the lead. The game was close up until the end with Olympiacos ahead trying to get a lead that will secure the win for the Reds.

After Olympiacos was unable to score in the last 92 seconds of the fourth quarter, Jokubaitis calmly knocked down 2 free throws with 3.5 seconds left to give Zalgiris the lead – and eventually the win since Sloukas could not get a final shot off.
