Maccabi Tel Aviv began its EuroLeague 2020-21 journey in the best way possible, as Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad kickstarted the season with a win over ALBA Berlin (80-73).

Maccabi overcame ALBA’s first quarter hot start (19-29) making a 30-12 run in the second quarter to take the lead at halftime (49-41).

Angelo Coloiaro, Othello Hunter and Chris Jones led the home team in scoring combining for 42 points. Coloiaro had a team-high 18 points for Maccabi.

The Israeli team maintained its lead and never looked back in the second half to start the 2020-21 season with a victory. For ALBA, Marcus Ericksson was the top scorer with 18 points, making 4-out-of-8 three pointers.
