The Houston Rockets are still searching for their new head coach after Mike D’Antoni decided to not return with the team for the next season.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Houston received permission to interview assistants for their vacant head coaching job.

Among the names Woj is referring to are the Denver Nuggets’ assistant and defensive specialist Wes Unseld Jr. and the Dallas Mavericks’ Stephen Silas.

Unseld has been the “defensive coordinator” during his time with the Nuggets and has done a phenomenal job revamping Denver’s defense.

Silas began his NBA career as a scout with the Hornets in 1999. He’s been an assistant coach with the Mavericks since 2018 after nearly a decade in Charlotte.
