Tom Thibodeau shared his thoughts on the New York Knicks’ young core and talked on the future of Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith Jr.

“I’m getting to know both guys. I like what they’ve done so far. They got to continue to work,” Thibodeau said, per Ian Begley of SNY.

“There’s often times ups and downs for young players there’s, you know — there’s a learning curve they have to go through.

“Some experiences will be better than others. They both have had some good moments in the league. You want to build a consistency. And how do you get there? You have to do it through your work, you have to learn from the experiences and you have to be disciplined. And so, hopefully we can get there this is a very important off season for both players.”

Thibodeau was appointed as the new head coach of the New York Knicks by the president of basketball operations Leon Rose.

Ntilikina and Smith are entering the final year of their rookie scale contract. Both players will be restricted free agents in 2021.
