Rudy Fernandez signs new deal for Real

Spanish international Rudy Fernandez has signed a new four-year deal with Liga Endesa side Real Madrid.

Fernandez signed for Real Madrid in 2011 after a stint in the NBA with the Portland Trailblazers and Dallas Mavericks and has since racked up 162 appearances, winning the domestic crown, a Copa del Rey and two SuperCups.

The guard has also had success with the Spanish national team since his move back home. He has captured a 2011 Eurobasket gold medal, during the NBA Lockout and an Olympic silver in London in 2012.

Fernandez is currently on international duty with Spain, as they prepare to host the FIBA World Cup in two weeks but with a fourth season with Real Madrid on the horizon, Fernandez will not only look towards World Cup glory, but aim to make it third time lucky in the Euroleague, where Real Madrid have lost in the Final game despite being favourites.
