LeBron James questioned the way people and the media are choosing the recipients of the regular season awards.

James received just 16 first-place votes in the MVP race and spoke on the way the voting takes place and how much of a bigger role “the narrative” plays.

“The voting scale is a little weird to me… I don’t know how much really we’re watching the game of basketball or are we just in the narration mode, the narrative,” the Lakers’ superstar said, per Ben Golliver of Washington Post.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was named the MVP of the season for a second consecutive year, leaving LeBron second.
