Kemba Walker moved to Boston last summer, after eight seasons with the Charlotte Hornets. Walkers had numerous options the past offseason, but decided to become the veteran leader in the young Celtics’ squad.

According to Tony Luong of The New York Times, via Slam, Walker was heavily pursued by the Los Angeles Lakers last summer with the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks being also very interested in signing him.

The Lakers were trying to sign Walker after the Anthony Davis’ trade at the start of the summer, which sent Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Despite not signing Walker, the Lakers were still able to finish on top of the Western Conference having the second-best record in the league, behind the Milwaukee Bucks.
