The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t go down as the NBA “bubble” champions, but they could easily be deemed as the social justice champions of the Orlando campus.

The Bucks’ head coach Mike Budenholzer opened up about his team’s protest, after the elimination loss to the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the series.

“What the team stands for, the character, the humanity to stand & be on the right side of history… that was emotional. It’s such a great group,” Budenholzer said, per Ben Golliver.

The Bucks went on strike, after the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha by the Wisconsin police. The team’s protest led to an NBA two-day shutdown and had an impact on the United States sports industry with several teams around the WNBA, the MLB and the NFL protesting against police brutality and social injustice.
