Bradley Beal said he did not expect the Milwaukee Bucks to boycott their playoff game against the Orlando Magic last week.
However, the superstar of the Washington Wizards fully supported the players’ decision to boycott the games as a way to protest for the shooting of Jacob Blake.
“I was surprised initially. But at the same time, you had no other feelings but respect, joy and this mind-set of: ‘That’s the right move. It’s the only move.’
They set the example, and the rest of the league followed. That just shows how much of a league we are, how much we pride ourselves on being more than just ballplayers,” Beal said, via Dorothy Gentry of the New York Times.
