The Sacramento Kings entered the market in order to appoint a new General Manager, after the decision to part ways with Vlade Divac.

Despite the unsuccessful season and the long playoff-drought of the Sacramento Kings, Harrison Barnes believes that Divac set the Sacramento Kings up for future success.

“I’m definitely thankful for all that Vlade’s done, not only for me, but for the Kings,” Barnes said on NBC Sports. “I remember where this franchise was in 2012 when I was first drafted. I think with the talent he’s brought in, the work he’s done, he’s definitely set this franchise up to be successful.”

“It’s unfortunate that he won’t be able to see it through, but that’s part of the business,” Barnes continued. The Kings seemed to be on the right track last season, posting a 39-win season.

Despite the fact that the Kings were in a roll, before the season pause on March, their play in the Orlando “bubble” was disappointing, finishing the 2019-2020 season with 31-41 record.
