Alba Berlin adds Tabu at point

German League runner-up Alba Berlin added experience to its backcourt by signing playmaker Jonathan Tabu to a one-year deal on Monday. Tabu (1.90 meters, 28 years old) arrives from CAI Zaragoza, where he averaged 8.1 points and 2.7 assists in 16 Eurocup games last season, ranking fifth overall (26-of-51, 51%) in three-point shooting. In his only previous Turkish Airlines Euroleague experience, Tabu averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 assists with Mapooro Cantu in the 2012-13 season. He started his professional career with Belgacom Spirou Charleroi and has also played for Vanoli-Braga Cremona in Italy. He has also been a member of the Belgian national team. Tabu helped Spirou win three consecutive Belgian League titles from 2008 to 2010. He also won the Italian Supercup with Cantu in 2012, helping it reach the Italian League and the Italian Cup finals in 2011. “Alba is one of the best clubs in Europe. Its professional environment and good coaching have convinced to come here, as well as the great city of Berlin,” Tabu said. “I am looking forward to the challenge of playing with Alba at the highest European level.”
