During the Blazers and the Lakers Game 2 matchup, Mark Jackson commented on Carmelo Anthony’s high defensive effort in Portland.

ESPN’s broadcaster said bad defensive habits are a “shared responsibility”, stating that “people who killed Carmelo Anthony for his defense in the past, they were wrong”.

George Karl, who coached Anthony in Denver and talked about his lack of effort in the past, didn’t take those comments lightly getting after the former Golden State Warriors’ head coach.

Jackson replied to the veteran coach, claiming that he didn’t even refer to him. Karl had successful coaching stints with the Seattle Supersonics, the Denver Nuggets and the Milwaukee Bucks having more than 1,900 NBA games under his belt.
