According to various reports, Panathinaikos is set to add Romain Sato to the roster for the next three years. It is estimated that he will earn $7.5 million. Sato was wanted by by Panathinaikos for at least a couple of years but his contract with Montepaschi Siena was the main obstacle in acquiring the player.

Central African international played in Siena since 2006 and established himself as one of the best small forwards in Europe. Sato averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists per game in Euroleague last season.
