According to defensacentral.com, a website affiliated with Real Madrid, the team of coach Ettore Messina is interested in Pops Mensah-Bonsu, known to the Spanish fans from his short 2008-2009 campaign with Joventut.26-year old Mensah-Bonsu was recently cut by the Houston Rockets as he did not have a guaranted contract. As Houston's General Manager said, Mensah-Bonsu was cut due to a strategic decision of coach Rick Adelman rather than due to the player's physical condition.
Mensah-Bonsu averaged 18.5 points in just two ACB matches, before he was released due to a shoulder injury in December 2008.
