Panathinaikos make their mark in Greek sports

Panathinaikos Basketball Club's triple crown season has made its mark on the Greek Sports scene as they were awarded the "Best Team of 2009" title during a ceremony organised by The Greek Union of Sportswriters.

Panathinaikos topped the "Best Team of 2009" category ahead of both Greece Basketball and Football National Teams.

Prizes didn't stop there for Panathinaikos as their legendary coach Zeljko Obradovic was "Best Coach of 2009" while Vassilis Spanoulis was third in "Best Sportsman of 2009" category. Fragiskos Alvertis was also given a special award for his long-life achievements in his long career.

Both Fragiskos Alvertis and Demetris Diamantides were in the Top10 of "Best Sportsman of 2009".
