Ukrainian league leaders Budivelnik Kiev announced the signing of a 34-year-old veteran forward-center Maceo Baston. The holder of two Euroleague titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv has been a free agent since being waived by Detroit Pistons on October 21. In 2008/2009 season Baston played 27 games with Indiana Pacers averaging 2.5 points per game.
Baston became the biggest signing in the history of Budivelnik. The official club website described the negotiations as difficult. The player should stay at the club till the end of the season. However, the club has the right to terminate the contract during the first two weeks if the player is in a bad physical shape.
