Lithuania vs. Spain scheduled next summer PDF Print E-mail
2008-10-31 16:41
SpainLithuanian basketball fans will have a chance to see two world powerhouses next summer at home after Lithuanian and Spanish basketball federations agreed to arrange two friendly games between the national teams.

Both teams usually play before every major competition. Though none of the previous games were played in Lithuania. Russia was probably the strongest team in recent years to play in a basketball-mad country.

World Champions Spain won silver medals in Beijing Olympics while Eurobasket 2003 champions Lithuania took bronze in Eurobasket 2007 which was held in Spain.

Lithuania will host Eurobasket 2011. It will be the first time since 1939 when Lithuanians won their second European title on home soil.
