Jaka Lakovic makes Euroleague history while Ramunas Siskauskas makes past 1000 points! PDF Print E-mail
2008-11-28 18:16
Jaka LakovicJaka Lakovic, the 30 year old Slovenian guard who currently plays for Barcelona made Euroleague history last night by reaching 2000+ points in Euroleague. More specifically Lakovic managed to score 22 points against Zalgiris in Kaunas, even hitting 5/5 threepointers.

Jaka Lakovic is just the fourth player ever to have passed the 2000 points barrier, just two points behind J.R. Holden of CSKA Moscow who is currently sidelined, so it is more than probable that he will move to the 3rd spot soon enough. The second top scorer is Luis Scola who left Euroleague for NBA last season with 2054 while Maccabi's Marcus Brown, a true Euroleague legend is still leading the race with 2361 points.

In the meanwhile during the Partizan-CSKA Moscow game Ramunas Siskauskas became one of just 48 players who made it past 1000 points in Euroleague history. He is currently 47th with 1005 points, ahead of Euroleague legends such as Arvydas Macijauskas, Tal Burstein and Frangiskos Alvertis.
