Efes Pilsen tabs Bojan Popovic from Rytas

Efes Pilsen already started building their roster for Euroleague Top 16 after being drawn in the group of death with Real Madrid, Montepaschi and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The first signing is familiar with the Turkish fans as he faced Efes Pilsen twice this season. Turkish giants announced the signing of Bojan Popovic from Lietuvos Rytas as their first new player before the next stage of the season.

Popovic signed a contract until the end of this season with an option for another year. 26-year-old Serbian point guard led Euroleague regular season in steals with 2.4 steals per game. Popovic also averaged 11.2 points and 5.4 assists per game in Euroleague.

Another player who could join Efes Pilsen in the coming days is Jeremiah Massey who has been released from Real Madrid recently.

Meanwhile Lietuvos Rytas should sign a replacement for Bojan Popovic. The chances are that the new player won't be really new to the team. Lithuanian champions were very close to bringing back their former point guard Hollis Price in case the team had made it to Euroleague Top 16. But since Bojan Popovic left the team for buy-out, Price could be coming back to Vilnius.
